Make it pay

Charter Ownership

Chartering is the most cost-effective way of owning a beautiful boat. In a good charter company, the income will very largely cover the operating expenses and make a substantial contribution to any financing costs. It should be possible to save on the GST costs of the purchase of the boat and its running costs, and it may be possible to comply with the Australian Taxation Office's criteria for negative gearing.

What we do for you

* organise the purchase, survey, initial fitout, delivery and commissioning of your boat and present it to you ready for your first sail
* clean it, do routine checks and maintain it carefully with minimal involvement from you. We use our skilled team for most work - no unnecessary calls on your time
* we have our own base with jetties, fuel, stores, toilets and showers, and maintenance facilities. The provision of a berth, alone, it worth a lot
* watch over your boat in all weathers
* hold a stock of parts, know where to source special parts, and keep good relations with subcontractors and specialists
*  do all the administration and accounting for you
*  undertake professional marketing, maintain a website, and a computer reservation system
* have proper, documented agreements with you so your investment is secure
* have proper arrangements with charter guests that include a formal chartering agreement, reasonable rules, full briefing procedures, and full on-water service

Your use

Your boat is carefully looked after while it is earning money. And you can still use the boat yourself, at minimal cost. All the pleasure of boating, without the problems.

Existing boats in the fleet

Purchasing a boat that is already in the fleet is a highly cost-effective means of ownership. All of our boats are maintained to the highest standards - a mechanical check is conducted after each and every charter, and the boat is slipped annual for more extensive maintenance.

New boats

We use our knowledge of both boats and chartering to select the most appropriate vessels for our fleet: good looking, robust, from manufacturers who we know will continue to give post-sale service.

Riviera Nautic's charter boat investment plan

Specifically designed to comply with ATO ruling 'TR2003/4 Income Tax: Boat Hire Arrangements' and with the Industry Code of Conduct.

Riviera Nautic has some opportunities for business investment in new vessels in its charter fleet. These are strictly limited as we only take in new boats when we believe there is sufficient business for them to be profitable for the owner. If you're serious about investment in a boat, we can help you manage your boat and your business within the guidelines of ATO Ruling TR2003/4.

Riviera Nautic will make it easier for you to run your boat business efficiently. We can give you the confidence to invest and then to enjoy your boat investment, particularly when you use your boat yourself.
