If you don’t like the idea of your boat being chartered then a properly managed syndicate is a terrific alternative.
How it works
There will only be, say, nine other owners and only those owners can use the boat, so it is still very much your privately owned boat.
The initial outlay and the running costs will be a fraction – one tenth – of the full cost and yet you still get as much usage as your life will allow you: 34 days a year, plus standby days. This is far more than most boats get used.
And Riviera Nautic offers its syndicate owners five-star walk on-walk off service so you can really enjoy your investment.
What we do for you
· Berth your boat and watch over it in all weathers
· Fuel it, clean and check it and maintain it
· Stock it and provide linen for you
· Provide a proper and fair booking service to allow you to get your 34 days a year
· Provide a full owner briefing service
· Establish reasonable rules to allow the owners to enjoy their boat but at the same time safeguard their investment and everyone’s interests
· Administer a properly set-up trust arrangement to safeguard your investment
· Do all the accounting and documentation for the trust
· Provide on-water support if needed
· Arrange the purchase, fit out and subsequent sale of the boat at the end of the syndicate period
In other words – everything we do for our charter boat owners, except that all the service is directed to the owners so that they get maximum value out of their boat with minimum stress.
The difference between syndicate and charter?
1 Only the syndicate boat owners use their boat - there is no public use.
2 There are no tax advantages in the syndicate as the boat is not chartered.
