We have our own premises on Chinaman’s Creek in Metung.  Metung is the jewel of the Gippsland Lakes and Chinaman’s Creek is one of the best positions.  It has easy access to the main part of the waterway – Lakes King and Victoria – while being sheltered by Shaving Point. The totally secluded anchorage at Box’s Creek is only minutes away and the Barrier Landing jetty on the Ninety Mile Beach is less than an hour’s steaming.

In other words, we have all the things needed to look after your boat properly, either as a charter boat or as part of a syndicate.  And we do look after them.  

Here’s what we do each and every day (apart from Christmas Day, the one day we close, but we’re still on call):  
·        fuel boats, pump them out and put them in their berths
·        remove linen, clean the boat, fill water and gas, replenish consumables
·        do over 100 checks on the boat to the engine, electrics, stove, lighting, sails, rigging, fittings, bilge pumps, radios, anti-mosquito system, cushions and furniture  ·        replenish with clean linen and consumables
·        brief charter guests on safety, operation of the vessel, charter rules, navigation around the lakes and good destinations. This is in addition to the very comprehensive information provided in the boat manual 
·        perform a radio check 
·        provide on-water service for guests who are having problems or who have made a mistake in their navigation 
·        offer sailing lessons 
·        provide pumpouts and water filling as needed during charters 
·        check the moorings of the boats at the jetties before leaving at night – and occasionally late at night if the weather is bad.  At times we move the boats to a totally secluded position at the top of Chinaman’s Creek  

  In addition, in the course of the year we also 
·    slip each boat and do underwater maintenance
·    arrange for Marine Safety Victoria surveys (not required on syndicate boats) ·        clean and polish the hulls 
·    clean and oil brightwork 
·    carry out routine, and occasionally exceptional, maintenance. 
·    thoroughly spring clean the boats  

In our office adjacent to the jetties, we 
·    arrange staffing and associated administration 
·    maintain a marine radio and telephone support service 
·    train staff 
·    purchase inventory and spares, and arrange for subcontract repairs
·    undertake marketing and maintain the website 
·    take and administer bookings using systems designed to prevent duplication and errors 
·   arrange for special requirements to be met wherever possible 
·    meet and greet guests on arrival and departure 
·    oversee all compliance arrangements 
·    undertake all accounting and reporting to authorities and owners 
·    keep all procedures, information and systems current 
·    oversee performance standards and compliance with Riviera Nautic systems
